We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us! Here are some reminders about our upcoming events:

Testing is this coming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!!

Testing Schedule:

Monday, October 26
Tiny Tigers White & Orange 5:30 PM
Karate for Kids Camo through Blue 6:30 PM
Adult White through Red 8:00 PM

Tuesday, October 27
Tiny Tigers Yellow & Camo 5:30 PM
Karate for Kids White through Yellow 6:30 PM
Adults Black Rec. & Black 7:30 PM

Wednesday, October 28
Tiny Tigers Green through Blue 5:00 PM
Karate for Kids Brown & Red 5:45 PM
Karate for Kids Black Rec. & Black 7:00 PM

There are no regular classes on Testing Days!!

Reminder: ALL Students that are Camo belts and above must bring their sparring gear to testing!! All sparring gear is required, including mouthpiece and groin protector (for males). Students that do not bring the required sparring equipment will not be allowed to test!

Due to our moving dates next week, all make-up testings will be done the week of November 2. Classes will be held Tuesday through Saturday of that week. Make-up testing appointments must be scheduled at the desk in advance. Students not completing their testing by Saturday, November 7 will have to wait until our next testing (December).


Moving Schedule:

Thursday, October 29 – No Classes - Moving!
Friday, October 30 – No Classes - Moving!
Saturday, October 31 – No Classes - Moving!

Monday, November 2 – No Classes! We’ll be hosting an open house on this day for everyone to come and check out our new Academy!
Tuesday, November 3 – Classes begin at our new Academy. The class schedule DOES NOT change!

Tournament –
November 14 – Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA
You can sign up at the desk!
Our Academy will be closed on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 for this event!

Thanksgiving Holiday –
Our Academy will be closed from Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, November 29 for Thanksgiving. We will re-open on Monday, November 30.

Testing-
Monday, December 21
Tuesday, December 22
Wednesday, December 23
Testing Times TBA

Christmas Holiday –
Our Academy will be closed from Thursday, December 24 until Sunday, December 27 for Christmas. We will re-open on Monday, December 28.

New Years Holiday –
Our Academy will be closed on Thursday, December 31 and Friday, January 1, 2010 for the New Years Holiday.

Just a couple of quick reminders as well -

Our summer morning classes have ended! Morning classes will resume the week of August 31, along with the beginning of our new schedule.

This week is ATA Xtreme Boot Camp - Join us on Saturday, August 22 for the ATAX Graduation Celebration and Performance to cap off this great week of exciting training!

Make Up Testings This Week

Make Up Testings can be done this week only! If you haven't tested yet, please call or email to schedule a time. This Saturday, July 25 will be the last day to make up your testing!

Testing Week Updates

Please check your email tonight for an important update! We made an error on the email we sent out on Sunday night. We'll be sending out a correction tonight after classes are over.

The email sent on Sunday had Blue Belt Karate for Kids Testing on both Friday and Saturday. The actual testing time for Blue Belt Karate for Kids students is Friday, July 17 at 5:30 PM.

Also, we have our Men's / Boys' Sparring Seminar coming up next Saturday, July 25 from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM. We'll have guest instructor Mr. Jasen Pekalla in from the Powell ATA Academy to teach this seminar. The Sparring Seminar is open to all Karate for Kids, Teens, and Adult boys and men. The cost is $20.00 per person. There is a sign up sheet at the desk!

Great Job to All of our Competitors Today!

We had about 10 competitors today compete in Black Belt Weapons or Black Belt Traditional Taekwondo divisions today. Everyone did great! We'll post results and pictures soon.

We have one more day of competition tomorrow to wrap a fun and very successful trip. Congratulations again to all of those who competed today!

Mrs. Cloe competed in the Top Ten Weapons Division this afternoon finishing Second Place in the world! We'll keep everyone posted on tomorrow's Forms and Sparring Competition.

ATA World Championships in Two Weeks

ATA World Championships is coming up from June 22 through June 28. Keep checking back here on this site for updated information.

We have almost 20 students heading to Little Rock, AR this year to compete or test and to celebrate the ATA's 40th Anniversary. Good luck to all those attending!!

We will be posting photos and video on this site when available.

Reminders for Upcoming Events

Testing is coming up on May 20 & May 21. Testing Times are posted in the lobby at the Academy. Make up Testings will be done the following week. Please remember that Make-up Testings are done by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance.

The Academy will be closed for the Memorial Day Holiday from Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

ATA World Championships is coming up June 22 - June 28 in Little Rock, AR. The deadline to register for competition at World's has been extended to this coming Monday, May 11. Our Academy will be closed from June 23 through June 28 for World Championships.

We have had a number of people express interest in attending and competing at this years event. This year will be the ATA's 40th Anniversary! Information is also available at Academy.



Please be aware that the registration deadline for competition at World's is this Friday, April 24, 2009!!

Great Job to Everyone on Excellent Testings!

Congratulations to all of our members that tested this weekend. Everyone did a great job!

For those that were unable to attend, we will be doing make-up testings this coming week. Please call, email, or stop by the desk to schedule a make-up testing.

Here is some information about the upcoming testing cycle:

Black Belt and Master Club weapons: Single Ssahng Joel Bong Creative Forms
Leadership Program: Gum Do (sword) Combat Drills

Black Belt Midterms:
First Degrees: Taekwondo Midterms (Forms, Sparring, Board Breaks)
Second Degrees: Ssahng Nat Form (Kamas)
Third Degrees: Advanced Jahng Bong Combat Drills

Also, the Academy will be open all week this holiday week - this includes Friday and Saturday.

Please remember that we have testing coming up on Friday and Saturday. We will have Tiny Tigers and Adult morning classes on Friday morning but no regular classes on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

A big congratulations to all those who competed at the tournament today in Pittsburgh! As always, we are extremely proud of how everyone did. We will post photos as soon as they are available.

There will be no classes at the Academy on Friday, 3/27 and Saturday, 3/28. All tournament competitors must complete their registration by tomorrow, Thursday, 3/26.
